Nice to see the conservatives get off the fence.
I thought if they really gave a monkeys about Groby residents then they'd put aside they're politcal squabbling to form a united front!

i can't say that tuesday's meeting at the h&b b.c. gave a good impression of local democracy but i'm not that interested in politics. But I am interested in issues which directly effect me & my family. So for that reason i endured the farce of a meeting on the 20th jan. Chants of you don't know what you're doing seemed rather apt from the groby protesters outside in the cold who were not allowed in. Oh yes health & safety directive very convenient. Maybe since the level of opinion was known due to 700 + turning up @ groby c.c before a more suitable venue should have been sort. I still fiercley object to any traveller sites however small being placed in groby. We are heaving at the seams & don't need housing or travellers sites. I will be at the brant on 29th jan & hope we can have an effective meeting. Lets fight for groby ammenities to be improved. I see a gr8 demand for a leisure centre perhaps that can go on anstey lane stuff the travellers. I want to improve groby not destroy it!!!!! I just hope our concillors who are our voice feel the same

Just to let you know that the meeting at the Brant on the 29th has been cancelled on the basis that as HBBC officers were effectively going to a Conservative Councillor workshop it would be politically biased.
Proper HBBC workshops should be anounced shortly.
