Court order for travellers (Leicester Mercury 13/4/09)
An emergency court order has been served at a site where residents fear an illegal travellers' camp is being built.
Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council's planning officers and police took legal action after unauthorised building work began in a field next to the existing Costalot travellers' site, near Bagworth.
Scores of diggers and tipper trucks began moving onto the field on Thursday night and started delivering concrete. No planning permission has been granted for any development.
The council issued an emergency legal order to get the work stopped on Friday afternoon, but the aggregates deliveries have continued. Now the authority is preparing to ask magistrates to enforce the notice and order that work which has already been completed is ripped up.
