GROBY PARISH COUNCIL LDF SITE ALLOCATIONS CHALLENGE
If you wish to view the comprehensive document that has been submitted by Groby Parish Council in response to the HBBC LDF Site Allocations Document DPD, this can be viewed by logging on to www.groby.com
As a matter of information, an amended Site Allocations document following the public consultation exercise was due to be presented to Borough Councillors by 2nd July 2009 but due to the overwhelming Borough wide response and condemnation of the Council's performance, it was announced at a meeting of the Borough Council's Scrutiny Commission on Thursday 2nd April 2009 that this has been deferred until the end of September 2009 but more likely early October 2009.
In the meantime, it has been decided to continue with the community petition in an effort to maximise the number of signatures collected and to submit the petition to coincide with the final period of public consultation following the presentation of the amended report in September/October 2009
It would be a huge help to the community campaign if everyone could download a copy of the attached petition and if they could get friends and neighbours to sign up.
Please continue to drop off your completed petition sheets in the box in the Groby Parish Council office or post to:

Please note, the HBBC's current preferred option for a Gypsy/Traveller transit site on the A5 at Hinckley is increasingly looking less likely to be deliverable, therefore Sacheverell Way, Groby which is still listed as an alternative option for a Gypsy/Traveller transit site (despite irresponsible claims to the contrary) could well be back in the frame.
The strength of opposition in communities throughout the Borough to the Borough Council's proposals is such that our own campaign of opposition can not be allowed to falter unless we want to become the recipient of the allocations that no one else wants either.
Please do not allow apathy or complacency to weaken what has previously been an excellent community campaign.
