Gypsy/Traveller Sites and building of new dwellings in Groby.
On the grounds that Groby Schools are already over subscribed, and some of the schools are already using temporary classrooms I wish to oppose any further development in the Groby area.
I am also concerned that in this period of severe financial hardship and constraint, this will find the Education Department at County Hall hard pressed to find funds for additional permanent classrooms, money to fund further teachers, money to provide 1 to 1 tuition for more pupils who have learning difficulties and special needs. Speaking on behalf of the village, we are not prepared to accept further empty promises in this crucial aspect of family expectations. Solve these problems first, then think about further development, not the other way about - sorry about this - but that is called planning, even if they are being forced on you by Whitehall and Brussels. NOT, identifying areas for this development, trying to justify them, and then promising that the problems will be sorted out at some unspecified time in the future. We had a saying in the military forces and it makes a lot of sense in these circumstances, 'P**s poor planning leads to p**s poor results', as has already been demonstrated on a number of occasions by HBBC planners to date.
